TA’s in my district are Certified Education Assistants (CEA).
CEA’s, like teachers, with a good relationship with the student can have an incredible impact. CEA’s have the opportunity to spend 1:1 time with students while the teacher cannot, this provides opportunity for a relationship, connection, and learning.
CEA’s can support the student by:
Sharing relevant info about performance,
supports ieps goals,
gathers info,
produce materials and implements strategies to accommodate individual needs,
assist with development of learning resources,
reviews and reinforces learning activities,
attends meets,
observe and documents,
provides info to teacher
model behaviour strategies

I really believe that the CEA and the teacher can make a good partnership to benefit the students.
