I love our area, and am blessed to grow up on the traditional lands within the Secwépemc’ulucw. When I am outdoors I am always revived and this place, the Bridge Lake Ice Caves is lovely no matter what season. However, in summer time the ice caves are cool and wonderful even during the hottest of summer days.

Although my children and I have been fortunate enough to be able to view Kilauea as it was erupting, and have travelled to Iceland and viewed volcanic activity there, we did not have to travel outside of our province to find evidence of volcanoes and volcanic formations. There is evidence in our own backyards!

Not only is this site informative for the discipline of science but it was also located along one of the fur trade routes that was abandoned as a trade route, once the wagon trail was established. Part of the traditional hunting and fishing grounds of the Tsq’escen’ peoples.

There are so many beautiful locations that offer history, story and learning!
